The Johnny R. Saadé family owns Domaine de Bargylus, the sole prestigious wine producer in Syria. Historically mentioned by the Elder, Mount-Bargylus, presently known as Jebel Al-Ansariyé, extends from the Orontes Valley near old Antioch to the south of ancient Emesa, in the Eleutherus Valley. This area, lying in the outskirts of Latakia, was once densely planted with vineyards during the Greco-Roman times.
Bargylus Red wine is a perfect fusion of power and elegance, characterized by its vibrant color and a distinct aromatic essence that reflects the fresh fruit and mineral qualities of the stony soil. The White wine, a non-oaked mixture of Chardonnay and Sauvignon, stands out for its unique complexity and impressive capacity to age well. Additionally, Domaine de Bargylus vineyard is recognized for its organic certification.
