Awesome place, lots of unique wines from amazing countries. Don't go to the supermarket come here!! The guy in this shop knows his wines, very helpful and knowledgeable. Good prices too. I purchased a bottle of Melnik 55 Bulgaria. From the broad leaved Melnik vine South West Bulgaria. Unique aroma of Wild berries and mountain herbs silky textured spicy finish. 14%

Ofran is a very friendly and knowledgeable person. His wine store is filled with special niche wines (and beers and spirits) from super exciting countries and regions, such as Eastern Europe, Caucasus and the Middle East. Ofran brews his own beers and created his own gin and vodka brand. The store is definitely worth a visit but beware: it’s difficult not to end up spending money there.

Mijn vriend en ik liepen zaterdag spontaan De Filosoof binnen. Hoewel we geen idee hadden waar we naar opzoek waren, liepen we al een paar minuten later naar buiten met een heerlijk flesje wijn. We zijn ontzettend goed geholpen en waren blij verrast met de fles Israëlische Malbec die we dezelfde avond soldaat hebben gemaakt.

Lovely shop and very friendly, approachable owner. Great range of wines from the Levant region but not too many from more typical wine-producing countries. That said, I bought a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc which is very good as a well as an Israeli wine which I am very excited to try! They also do wine tastings and soon will open a wine bar close by.
